Juventus preparing to swoop for United star if INEOS beat them in the race for World Cup finalist – report

Manchester United would ideally like an upgrade on Rasmus Hojlund, but so far, nothing has materialised.

Liam Delap, Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen have all slipped out of the club’s grasp, which is why The Peoples Person relayed that there is a chance United could start the new season without a new striker.

Backup options like Ollie Watkins and Benjamin Sesko remain on the club’s radar but their asking price means a move has not materialised.

The England international would love to move to the Theatre of Dreams, but player sales are required to fund such a move. Rasmus Hojlund is one player the Red Devils are desperate to sell.

Rasmus Hojlund still at United

Initially it seemed like the Dane would be heading to Inter Milan, but they were only prepared to offer a loan deal while United were insisting on a permanent exit.

Inter’s dithering has allowed domestic rivals AC Milan and Juventus to enter the fray with La Repubblica (via Tutto Juve) claiming that the Bianconeri are keen on the Denmark international.

Their first choice is to try and secure Randal Kolo Muani’s signature, who spent the last season on loan in Turin from Paris Saint-Germain.

Incidentally, the French striker is also a United target and should Juve fail to land the France international, they could pounce for Rasmus Hojlund.

Kolo Muani has admirers in AC Milan, and Newcastle and Juventus are keeping tabs on United’s No.9 as well as Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez.

Juventus’ backup option

“The Rossoneri’s surprise choice could be Kolo Muani. A formidable counterattack player suited to Allegri’s style of play, a player who has, however, given priority to the Bianconeri.

“PSG is asking €50 million for him. Newcastle are lurking, and Juventus are awaiting a move. They have identified alternatives in Liverpool’s Nunez or United’s Hojlund if they lose.”

It would be a win-win for INEOS if Hojlund departs and Kolo Muani can be brought in on an initial loan.

The report does not mention the kind of deal Juve will be prepared to offer in case they are forced to pivot, but an initial loan with an obligation could be enough for United to sanction their striker’s departure.
