Leipzig joined by unexpected PL duo in enquiring about United star mulling his options – report

RB Leipzig and a surprise Premier League pair have recently enquired about Manchester United forward Antony.

Antony available for transfer

Antony is not believed to have a future at United, with the club looking to offload him this summer after a successful loan spell at Real Betis in the latter half of the 2024/25 season.

He was sensational at Betis, scoring nine goals and providing an additional five assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

Antony was instrumental as Betis secured a top-six finish in La Liga and reached the Conference League final, where they ultimately lost to Chelsea.

The Brazilian is one of five United players who have been exiled from the team as they continue to look for clubs willing to sign them.

Unsurprisingly, Betis want to extend Antony’s stay with them but they are unwilling to meet United’s valuation for the player. Betis are keen on a loan deal but United are not interested in such an arrangement again, with their preference being a permanent sale.

A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Los Verdiblancos have proposed a joint-ownership deal for Antony, which would allow United to retain significant rights to the player and potentially secure a substantial fee from any future sale. However, the idea appears to have failed to gain traction.

As things stand, United and Betis remain deadlocked in negotiations over Antony, even though the forward continues to prioritise a move to the Spanish club.

But, they’re not the only club eyeing him.

Suitors lining up to sign Antony

According to Brazilian news outlet UOL, United want around £50m for Antony, who is wanted by several teams, both abroad and in the Premier League.

UOL claim, “The Brazilian winger, however, is in no rush to decide his future. Above all, he wants any move to be made carefully and with conviction.”

“In recent weeks, the former São Paulo player has received inquiries from at least three leagues in Europe: Germany (RB Leipzig and Leverkusen), England (Brighton and Newcastle), and, of course, Spain (Betis itself).”

It remains to be seen whether Leipzig, Brighton or Newcastle make concrete moves for Antony.
