Manchester United’s long-standing interest in Tyler Dibling is facing fresh competition from Portuguese giants FC Porto.
The 19 year old winger, who caught the eye during Southampton’s relegation season, has emerged as one of England’s most sought-after young talents.
United have monitored Dibling for some time, with the player viewed as a potential long-term attacking option. His performances in the Premier League this past season, despite his club’s drop, only strengthened that belief.
In March, The Telegraph reported that Southampton were hoping for closer to €115 million amid interest from Man United and Man City.
But while attention remained focused on a domestic bidding war, Porto quietly joined the conversation.
According to Record, the Portuguese club are exploring ways to structure a deal—potentially involving player swaps or loan arrangements.
Dibling’s current contract runs until June 2027, giving Southampton control over his immediate future. Nonetheless, the player is believed to be aware of the interest from abroad and open to a step up.
For United, the growing interest from elsewhere may force a decision.
With key transfer priorities already identified this summer, including a striker and a central midfielder, competition from Porto could complicate the club’s strategic planning.
Still, the teenager’s versatility and technical profile align with Ruben Amorim’s vision for squad building. United’s recruitment staff are said to have kept tabs on Dibling since his youth breakthrough.
If the club are serious about their interest, they may need to act before the door closes—or risk seeing another promising player develop elsewhere.
Dibling’s next move will be shaped by both opportunity and playing time. Whether Old Trafford is the right destination this summer could depend as much on United’s intent as the player’s ambition.
For now, the ball remains in Southampton’s court but the list of suitors is growing.
