“You better pray that…”: Explosive details emerge of Amorim’s heated conversation with Garnacho as he kicked him out of United – report

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim reportedly warned Alejandro Garnacho to “pray” that he finds a new club willing to sign him, as he effectively kicked him out of Old Trafford.

Last week, it emerged that Amorim told Garnacho to look for a new team, with the winger not in his plans ahead of next season.

This came after Garnacho and his brother’s outbursts in the immediate aftermath of United’s 1-0 Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.

Garnacho was named on the bench and only came on for the last 20 minutes while the Red Devils were trailing. He had an impact, even forcing Gugliermo Vicario into a good save.

After the final whistle, Garnacho spoke to the media and slammed Amorim’s decision to leave him out of the starting XI, while also casting doubts on his future at the club. The Argentine said, “Obviously it’s hard for everyone. Our season was s***. We didn’t beat anyone in the league. We lacked a lot of things. When you don’t score goals, you always need more.”

“Until we reached the final, I played every round. And I played 20 minutes today.” On his future, the United star remarked, “I don’t know. I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens next.”

Garnacho’s brother, known for making petty and reckless remarks about United managers and players during difficult times, took to social media to accuse Amorim of “throwing him under the bus.”

The Daily Mail has now revealed details of the explosive exchange, during which Amorim told Garnacho he was free to leave. This happened in front of the entire squad.

According to the newspaper, Amorim held a team meeting at Carington on Saturday and told the 20-year-old, “You better pray that you can find a club to sign you.”

It’s understood that Amorim’s remarks made it clear to both Garnacho and his teammates that the forward is on his way out.

Nevertheless, Garnacho was included in the travelling squad to Asia for the post-season friendlies.

United are believed to want around £60m for him, with the likes of Napoli, Chelsea, Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid all mentioned to be interested in securing his signature.
