United make surprise £12.7m offer for Leicester sensation, Van Nistelrooy absolutely adores him – report

Manchester United battle Tottenham Hotspur for the signature of Leicester City’s Jake Evans, as per reports.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Leicester are heading to the Championship after a dreadful season in England’s top flight. However, the emergence of several young talents is being seen as a major positive and could help the Foxes return back to the Premier League quickly.

20-year-old attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss, who joined Leicester last summer, has earned plenty of plaudits for his strong presence in and out of possession.

The likes of Jeremy Monga and Jake Evans have also caught the attention of fans and pundits alike after making their senior debuts in the second half of the campaign.

Having said that, it is going to be very difficult for Leicester to keep hold of their exciting prospects, as a number of Premier League clubs are preparing to take advantage of their situation. Evans, in particular, has landed on United’s radar, as per a report in Spain.

According to Fichajes, United are looking to sign the 16-year-old prodigy this summer.

It is claimed that the Red Devils have offered around €15 million (£12.78m) for the England U16 international.

Evans is capable of playing all across the front line but he mainly thrives as a striker or a right-winger.

He has scored an impressive 10 goals in 14 Premier League 2 appearances this term, leading to suggestions that he could become heir to Jamie Vardy’s throne at King Power Stadium.

It is understood that ex-United striker Van Nistelrooy has “complete confidence” in Evans’ abilities and believes the starlet with immense potential could spearhead Leicester’s attack in the future.

It is suggested that United face competition from Spurs for the youngster’s services. The North Londoners are also prepared to make a significant offer to win the race for the Leicester wonderkid.

Meanwhile, United are also going head-to-head with Chelsea for Blackburn Rovers gem Igor Tyjon but the Mancunians have already seen their opening bid turned down by the Championship side.
