Furious Lisandro Martinez unleashes wrath on Man United legend after criticism: ‘He wouldn’t survive!’

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes has never been one to hold back his opinions, and his latest remarks on Lisandro Martinez have sparked a heated response from the Argentine defender.

Speaking on The Overlap, Scholes dismissed Martinez’s quality, stating, “Even if Lisandro is healthy, he is not good enough for a Premier League-winning team.” The comments quickly made waves among fans and pundits alike, with many debating the validity of Scholes’ harsh assessment.

Martinez, however, did not let the criticism slide.

The 27 year old fired back with a pointed response on social media, writing, “This jinx guy is really hurting… You put him in Argentina, and he wouldn’t survive.”

Martinez is widely regarded as one of the best ball-playing defenders in the league.

His ability to build attacks from the back, break opposition lines with incisive passing, and dictate play almost as a deep-lying midfielder has been crucial for United’s system.

His composure on the ball allows the team to transition smoothly from defense to attack, making him a key component in Ruben Amorim’s tactical approach.

However, his aggressive nature sometimes lands him in trouble.

Moments of recklessness and lapses in decision-making have led to costly mistakes, which Scholes may have alluded to in his comments.

Scholes’ remarks also came at a particularly difficult time for Martinez.

The Argentine has been sidelined with a serious ACL injury, dealing with a challenging recovery process.

Questioning his ability in the middle of the season, when United are already struggling, could be seen as unnecessary criticism rather than constructive feedback.

While Scholes’ concerns about Martinez’s suitability for a title-winning side might be valid to some extent, the timing and tone of his comments have drawn criticism for potentially undermining a player who is already facing a tough period in his career.

The war of words between the club legend and the current star is likely to add further intrigue as United push for success.

Whether Martinez can silence his critics on the pitch remains to be seen, but his fiery response shows he is not one to back down from a challenge.
