“Frustrated” Amorim “fuming” at some United bosses over their poor handling of these two transfers – report

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is reportedly “fuming” at some senior club executives due to their poor handling of Casemiro and Marcus Rashford deals during the January transfer window.

Both players were heavily linked with an Old Trafford exit but only Rashford got a move.

Rashford sealed a late loan switch to Aston Villa, which was confirmed last Sunday. For weeks, Rashford’s future was the subject of intense speculation, with several teams including AC Milan, Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, West Ham and Napoli all interested in his services.

However, it was Villa who eventually won the race to sign him. Unai Emery played a key role, personally requesting the Villains to secure Rashford’s signature.

Meanwhile, Casemiro was mentioned to be on the radar of Saudi Pro League outfit Al Nassr but a move never materialised.

Casemiro ended up staying at United. The Brazilian was brought on in the dying embers of Friday’s comeback win over Leicester City in the FA Cup but it remains crystal clear he doesn’t feature very highly in Amorim’s plans.

According to FootballTransfers, Amorim is furious with some of his United bosses over broken transfer promises.

The news outlet reveals, “Manager Ruben Amorim is frustrated with certain members of Manchester United’s hierarchy over their handling of key transfer dealings, particularly Casemiro’s stay and the delayed departure of Marcus Rashford.”

“Amorim was left disappointed that Rashford’s transfer to Aston Villa wasn’t completed quickly enough to secure a replacement. While the club managed to offload a substantial portion of the forward’s wages until the summer, the delay ultimately prevented them from strengthening the squad for the rest of the season.”

“The Portuguese coach was expected to offload several high-profile names, including Casemiro, who has struggled for form and fitness since the latter stages of last season. However, with no suitable offers materialising, the Brazilian remains on United’s books, much to the manager’s annoyance.”

It’s understood that Amorim was keen on recruiting younger and more dynamic midfielders but the club’s failure to offload Casemiro made this nearly impossible.

United are back in action on Sunday, February 16 when they go away to Tottenham Hotspur.
