“I love everything here:” United winger expresses desire for permanent transfer amid prosperous loan spell

Antony appears to be willing to leave Manchester United permanently following his loan move to Real Betis.

Having struggled to ever find form since originally moving to Old Trafford from Ajax, Antony secured his loan to Betis in the winter transfer window, where he hoped to revive his stagnating career.

In stark contrast to his Man United career, the Brazilian greatly impressed during his debut for Betis, receiving the La Liga MVP award.

Teammate Romain Perraud praised Antony for his impact on the Spanish side so far, calling him “magical.”

Given the stark contrast between his life in Manchester and Seville, it appears that Antony would have no qualms about leaving Old Trafford for good.

“I want to find my best version and the first step is to be happy. Everything here is incredible, my family and I are happy. Now it is time to work to be in my best version and help the club in everything,” Antony told AS.

“Stay at Betis? We have to respect the process. I went through difficult times. If I have to stay longer, I would have to talk to the president and everything. And for now I want to play and score goals and give assists. I have to help the team, later we can talk about that,” the winger explained, revealing his openness to making his Betis move a permanent one.

“It is very important to be happy because that is how things flow. I love everything here, the people and the city. I’m going to give my all at Betis, not just in the match but in training. I’ll always do that. I’m going to give it 100%.”

While it may seem as if a permanent move may be what Antony needs to prosper on the pitch, a potential transfer could come at a troublesome time for United manager Ruben Amorim.

After all, United are desperately low in attacking options, particularly given the club’s quiet transfer window during which no wingers or forwards were recruited.

What’s more, the existing front line consists of multiple underperformers including the likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

In conclusion, it makes sense to allow Antony to depart should he wish to do so. The only qualifying factor would be for United to find a suitable replacement before he does.
