Surprise clubs “considering” a late January move for United midfield superstar, INEOS are open to his sale – report

Ever since Ruben Amorim came on board as Manchester United’s new head coach, Casemiro’s minutes have diminished greatly with the Brazilian recently finding himself at the bottom of the midfield pecking order.

The Portuguese tactician has opted to hand regular minutes to academy graduate Toby Collyer ahead of the former Real Madrid superstar in recent times.

Amorim explained his actions recently by stating that the Brazilian can no longer provide the intensity demanded by the new coach as before. Which is why the defensive midfielder has never completed the full 90 minutes under the 40-year-old.

“We understand that Casemiro has other things nowadays. The intelligence he has, understanding the game, understanding where the ball is going to fall but we’re in a league that I can see, even in European competitions, the difference in intensity is big. And so, I feel that this team also needs players with a very high intensity,” Amorim said.

Given that he is not in the boss’ plans, it is natural that he will searching for an exit this January with INEOS also open to the possibility as that would mean they get his humongous wages of £350,000 gross per week (via capology) off the wage bill.

However, despite initial interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, a move seems off the table with the 32-year-old’s contract demands not helping matters.

AS Roma have also been credited with interest in the five-time Champions League winner as has Besiktas but it remains to be seen if a permanent exit materialises this January.

As revealed by TBR Football, Qatari clubs could offer him an exit from his Old Trafford nightmare while Galatasaray have also been linked with a move.

“Sources have told TBR Football that a number of sides are keen to take the man born in Sao Jose dos Campos – including Italian giants Roma.

“Galatasaray are also admirers of the Manchester United No.18 – while clubs in Qatar are considering a move too.”

However, the report does not make clear whether the aforementioned teams want him on a loan deal or a permanent exit.

United would ideally like to recoup a small fee from his sale and in case of a loan exit, they would want the club to take care of his full wages.

Whether United’s terms are accepted remains to be seen. For now, United seem to be stuck with Casemiro with landing spots drying up and only five days left for the window to close.
