Manchester United suffered a 2-0 away defeat at the hands of Wolverhampton Wanderers Here are our player ratings from the game.

(A score of 6 is around average)

Andre Onana 3 – Another shaky performance. Not strong enough for Wolves’ opener, when Matheus Cunha scored directly from a corner-kick.

Leny Yoro 5 – Received an early booking for bringing Cunha down while he was charging at the United goal but other than that he was mostly fine.

Harry Maguire 6 – Some good clips out to the wide players. Embarked on one or two surges forward. Some good battles with Strand Larsen. Didn’t do an awful lot wrong.

Lisandro Martinez 6 – Mostly the same as Maguire. A couple of good defensive moments and his passing out from the back was smooth as is usually the case.

Noussair Mazraoui 5 – Created an early opening. Found himself with space down the right on a few occasions but he didn’t do much with it.

Manuel Ugarte 7 – Busy in midfield again. Injected lots of energy and won most of his duels and challenges. Oddly among the first to be substituted yet again.

Kobbie Mainoo 4 – Another below-par performance by his extremely high standards. Some sloppy passes and touches, resulting in United losing possession. Also didn’t offer nearly enough going forward. Seems like he’s struggling to find his natural place under Amorim.

Diogo Dalot 7 – United’s primary source of threat, especially during the opening 45 minutes. Had at least two cracks at goal although he didn’t hit the target. Much better at left-wing-back compared to how he has performed in recent weeks. His involvement in forward areas during the second half was limited, mostly as a result of United going a man down.

Amad Diallo 5 – Started brightly but faded as the match proceeded. Appeared to be holding the width more and played closer to the touchline.

Bruno Fernandes 1 – Got sent off early in the second half after receiving a second booking for a reckless challenge. Left his teammates with a mountain to climb and unsurprisingly, it was all downhill from there. Very poor even before he was given his marching orders and kept losing the ball under little pressure. Not shocking that Ruben Amorim completely blanked him as he walked away.

Rasmus Hojlund 2 – Another nothing performance. Completely bullied by Wolves’ defenders and he never once got into the game.

Substitutes

Antony 6 -Very involved as he slotted into a right-wing-back position. Tried to make things happen albeit unsuccessfully.

Casemiro 6 – Decent when he came on.

Christian Eriksen 6 – Brought some degree of control. Excellent set-piece deliveries.

Alejandro Garnacho 3 – Shocking for Wolves’ second goal.

Joshua Zirkzee 5 – No impact whatsoever. A useless substitution.
