3 goals in 2 games… Wonderkid shows why Manchester United are pushing for his signature

Manchester United have a strong eye for signing young talent, as the acquisition of Alejandro Garnacho showed in 2020.

The problem is that deals like the one which signed Alejandro Garnacho from Atletico Madrid have not been possible since, due to Brexit.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos can change all this, with partner club in France with Nice, and Switzerland with Lausanne.

A deal was recently struck to sign Italian wonderkid Simone Pafundi on loan for Lausanne with an option to buy, opening the pathway for him to join Manchester United in the future. Another Italian could be in the mix too.

The most exciting young forward in Italian football is AC Milan sensation Francesco Camarda, who made his Serie A debut last November at just 15.

Manchester United are in the mix for his signature, with Calciomercato this week reporting an ‘important offer’ has been received from the Red Devils.

Whether this amounts to anything remains to be seen. If Camarda wants to stay at AC Milan, surely he will, but if he can be tempted into the Ineos pathway, it will speak volumes for the project Ratcliffe and co are putting together.

Camarda is showing what the fuss is about

Francesco Camarda is continuing his development in Italy’s youth set up, and has had a productive week.

In two games for Italy’s under-17 side, he has scored three goals. Watching scouts will have been impressed with what they saw.

Camarda’s equalising goal yesterday secured a 2-2 draw with Finland, a result which booked Italy’s place in the European under-17 finals this summer.

This is the type of tournament Manchester United will have a strong scouting presence at, along with most of Europe’s top clubs.

United may go to watch Camarda, and return with a different talent on their wanted list. But for now, the teenage striker is hitting the right notes, and showing why he is in-demand. If there really is a chance of getting him away from Milan, expect the Red Devils to pursue it.
