27-yo United star “could be on the move” in the next few days after €36m deal – report

Manchester United’s goalkeeping department could undergo further changes this week.

Ahead of Monday’s deadline, United secured the services of Senne Lammens. The highly-rated Belgian shot-stopper joins the Red Devils from Royal Antwerp in a deal worth north of €20 million.

Considering the pressure that comes with playing between the sticks for United, it remains uncertain if Lammens will be made the side’s number one from the get-go.

However, his arrival should raise question marks over the futures of both Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir, as the duo have been underwhelming at United so far.

It has been widely reported that United are willing to listen to offers for Onana and Bayindir, and now it has emerged that the latter could depart Old Trafford in the next few days.

Manchester United goalkeeper lands on Trabzonspor’s radar

According to Attacking Football‘s Paddy Keogh-Goode, Bayindir “could be on the move” to Trabzonspor.

The Turkish outfit are looking for a new goalkeeper after selling their captain Uğurcan Çakır to Galatasaray in a €36m deal, including add-ons.

The 27-year-old has a good reputation in Turkey thanks to his spell at Ankaragücü and Fenerbahçe. He left the Super Lig giants for United in 2023.

The transfer window in Turkey remains open until September 12, allowing Trabzonspor plenty of time to strike an agreement with United and Bayindir.

Onana’s demands irked Amorim

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United did not intent to sign a new goalkeeper this window at the start of the summer.

However, Onana’s fitness issues and his desire for a new contract on the back of an abysmal campaign did not go down well with Amorim.

Bayindir’s uncertain performance against Arsenal didn’t help the situation, leading to United making a strong push for Lammens.
