Donny van de Beek is all set to depart from Old Trafford in January.
Manchester United Football Club spent relatively big to sign Donny van de Beek over a year ago now.
After a positive early impression, Van de Beek’s form quickly faded and his confidence went through the floor.
His last twelve-month period has been pretty shoddy. But none of it is Van de Beek’s fault. The Dutchman has bene given no opportunity whatsoever to showcase his ability, with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer making the former Ajax man sit on the bench.
Understandably, Van de Beek’s frustration is growing. He’s now becoming unsettled, bemused and disappointed at his complete lack of playing time. Particularly when the guys in front of him aren’t playing all that great…
Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, it’s being claimed that the 24-year-old will leave United in January if his situation doesn’t change.
That’s despite his love for the club. That’s despite the fact he’s acting like a professional in training. That’s despite he’s doing his best for United. Honestly, I just don’t get it.
Why not give him a real chance to prove his worth? With a decent run in the side, I have the utmost confidence that Van de Beek would show his class and prove why he deserves to be starting over the likes of Fred and Scott McTominay, both of whom have been pretty inconsistent this season.
I just feel sorry for Donny. He would have been buzzing to get his big move to Old Trafford, but to watch it all go up in smoke through no fault of his own is no doubt a massive disappointment.
Right now, he must feel like he simply has to leave in order to get his career back on track – but the United fans want to actually see what he can do before making a decision on a player who has barely any starts to his name.
