21-yo star receives offer to leave United, exit could be agreed in next few days despite training under Amorim – report

The summer transfer window for Premier League clubs closed on September 1, yet Manchester United continue to work on multiple deals.

Early this week, United agreed deals to sign Cristian Orozco and Charlie Hardy. Orozco, a midfielder, will join the Red Devils from Colombian outfit from Fortaleza CEIF. Meanwhile, Hardy, a goalkeeper, is leaving Championship side Derby County for the Premier League giants.

However, both Orozco, 17, and Hardy, 15, are not being signed with a view to immediately break into the senior side.

United have been active on the outgoing front as well. They loaned out Andre Onana to Super Lig side Trabzonspor in the second week of September, and are now hoping to offload a winger in the coming days.

Mather receives offer from UAE

According to the Manchester Evening News, Al Wahda FC have made a move to sign Sam Mather.

The 21-year-old forward has received an offer from the UAE Pro League giants, who have been reportedly told that they have until the end of the weekend to agree on a deal to secure Mather’s services.

Mather has been involved in first-team training ahead of United’s clash against Brentford. Still, the Mancunians are open to parting ways with their academy product imminently.

It is understood United want a buy-back clause to be included in the deal, and the transfer hinges on whether Al Wahda agree to that demand. The UAE club must make a decision this weekend.

Mather wants first-team minutes

Mather is willing to leave United, having spent the second half of last season on loan at Tranmere Rovers. The winger wants to play at senior level on a regular basis.

Mather initially wanted to stay in Europe and allegedly received enquiries from clubs in Germany, Sweden and Turkey but nothing materialised.

Turkish outfit Kayserispor tried to sign him early this month, but a permanent move collapsed due to lack of time to complete a deal despite advanced talks.

In the last few days, Chido Obi’s future has also been the subject of speculation amid a lack of first-team opportunities. The Dane striker has been advised to consider his options by former Denmark international Mikkel Beckmann.
