Radek Vitek has signed a new long-term contract with Man United, before heading out on loan.

Manchester United have sanctioned several loan deals already this month, allowing some players to head out and earn their minutes (and experience) elsewhere to continue their development.

Erik ten Hag simply had no choice, particularly after the club were dumped out of Europe, meaning fewer games are now available.

The latest player to join that list is young Radek Vitek. He will play his football for League Two Accrington Stanley for the rest of this season.

However, before heading out on a short-term deal, the 20-year-old has signed a new long-term contract at United. Vitek commits his future to Old Trafford until at least 2027, the official club website today confirmed.

Vitek becomes the ninth player to head out on loan this month, after making it into the senior match-day squad on three occasions this season. He is yet to make his senior debut for the Red Devils, though did appear during pre-season, where he looked cool, calm and collected.

At this point, a loan move away was the only option for Vitek. He was never going to play football for the senior side this season, while he’s too good for youth level football.

I’d also argue that Vitek is probably deserving of at least League One minutes due to his sheer talent, but it doesn’t look like any side made any effort to bring him in during this month.

Hopefully, this loan move gives Vitek a chance to prove his worth and come back to United this summer with more confidence and belief.
