phil jones transfer

Phil Jones is being targeted by as many as thirteen clubs for a January transfer.

Manchester United Football Club are struggling on the field right now. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future remains up in the air.

The Baby Faced Assassin has built a great squad of players at Old Trafford. Though you do get the feeling he’s taken us as far as he can.

One man who remains at the club, despite not kicking a ball for two years is Phil Jones. However, according to The Sun on Sunday, he’s attracting interest from as many as thirteen clubs for a January move.

The United outcast is being eyed by Premier League sides Watford and Newcastle, while there’s Championship interest in the Englishman, too.

Apparently, United will delay making a decision on Jones’ future at this time, due to the defensive injury crisis they’re dealing with at the moment.

The player is impressing in training, with Solskjaer said to be ‘delighted’ by Jones’ efforts. It’s also stated that the gaffer would love to get more minutes under the defender’s belt as the former Blackburn Rovers man looks to reach match fitness.

Jones hasn’t played for United since January 2020 in an FA Cup game. The Englishman’s injury issues are well documented. However, you do get the impression that his time in Manchester is coming to an end.

Sadly, it hasn’t worked out for him here, most notably due to his injury issues. However, you cannot deny his talent. I genuinely hope that someone takes a gamble on him in January and offers him a platform to play regularly.

You do get the feeling that it’s best for all involved if Jones moves on and kickstarts his career elsewhere.
