11 Man Utd players who may have played their last game for the club after FA Cup final delight

Manchester United are celebrating winning the FA Cup Final. Here is a list of every single player who probably has, or could have played their last game for the club.

Manchester United’s season has now officially concluded, and it’s safe to say Erik ten Hag has ended on a high with the FA Cup win.

As the FA Cup Final draws the curtain on the season, it’s more than safe to assume that some Manchester United first-team squad players will be exiled by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos as they take over the transfer side of things around Old Trafford.

So with this, here are the 11 who we think may have played their last game in a Manchester United shirt.

Raphael Varane

This one is already confirmed, Raphael Varane has officially played for the last time for Manchester United.

The Frenchman bid an emotional farewell to Manchester United fans, which left many divided. He’ll now look elsewhere to continue his illustrious career.

Anthony Martial

Similarly, fellow countryman Anthony Martial is confirmed to depart Manchester United after a whopping nine seasons at Old Trafford.

His five-year contract awarded by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in 2009 has finally concluded, which the Red Devils are very wise not to renew once more following his shoddy injury record.

Sofyan Amrabat

A man who looked to have a spirited rejuvenation towards the end of the season, but we believe his fate is still sealed. Sofyan Amrabat’s loan spell at Carrington likely won’t be made permanent, meaning he should return to Fiorentina.

United have the option to trigger his £21m release clause, but there are no indications this will be taken up.

He was terrific in the final against City, but we may not see him play for the club again.

Casemiro

Another huge departure could happen this summer, which if you’d have told Manchester United fans at the beginning of the season would’ve been met with disgust – it’s Casemiro.

The five-time Champions League winner has been seriously off the pace in the 23/24 campaign, and rumours are resurfacing that Saudi are interested in luring him away. If Manchester United want to accumulate any of the £60m fee they paid for him, it may be wise to cash in.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

English right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka is also on the chopping block, particularly because of the fine season had by Diogo Dalot.

The 26-year-old’s progression just appears to have stagnated at Manchester United, and now might be the only time to get a decent bit of cash for him given the trigger of a one-year extension.

Altay Bayindir

Altay Bayindir played just one game for Manchester United after being signed by Erik ten Hag, and it appears it’s set to stay that way.

He was linked with a move back to Turkey, which is now uncertain whether to be true, either way – he will surely be frustrated with a lack of game time given his age. His Old Trafford career seriously may be over before it even started.

Tom Heaton

Another goalkeeper, Tom Heaton’s spell with the club may come to a close. Now 38, Heaton still hasn’t made a Premier League appearance since his return to Old Trafford three years ago.

We reported that he may be open to staying, particularly if he could be part of the coaching staff, but that leaves it to interpretation as to whether he’ll be kept on as a player with his contract expiring.

Victor Lindelof

Victor Lindelof has been a good servant for Manchester United, but this may be the summer we finally say goodbye to the Swedish centre-back.

It’s probably out of him or Harry Maguire as to who will depart, with Lisandro Martinez likely safe. Former club captain Maguire has been great this season when he’s been fit, so that may give him the edge over Victor this summer.

Whilst there have been no concrete reports linking him elsewhere, Lindelof wasn’t on the name of players Ineos intend to keep, so anything could happen. This will be an interesting one to see if anything develops.

Jonny Evans

Who would have thought Jonny Evans would need to be called on as much as he has this season? The Northern Ireland veteran, amid an injury crisis at Carrington, has stepped up at the ripe age of 36 and has performed very well.

Nevertheless, having been on just a one-year contract, it’s probably more likely than not United won’t offer him another. He, like Heaton, may join the United infrastructure in a coaching role, but we think another season on the pitch may be out of the question.

Christian Eriksen

One that isn’t confirmed, but may as well be – Christian Eriksen should be moving on this summer. The Dane was an inspired pick-up from Ten Hag, but this season in particular he’s shown he’s way past it.

Eriksen’s story is one now ingrained in footballing folklore, and we are glad his resurgence brought him to Manchester United, and he can leave with his head held high.

Marcus Rashford

The big one. Will Marcus Rashford depart Manchester United this summer? It is seriously up in the air. After the horror of a season which saw him recently left out of the Euro 2024 squad for England, rumours are hotting up that Rashford may be better moving on elsewhere.

Who would take him, or pay the price United would like, is a different story – but he certainly isn’t untouchable for the Red Devils.

More Manchester United loanees could also depart for good…

There are also a number of players in Manchester United’s first-team squad who could leave for good. These include:

  • Jadon Sancho
  • Mason Greenwood
  • Facundo Pellistri
  • Donny van de Beek
  • Hannibal Mejbri
  • Radek Vitek

It could be a seriously busy summer of outgoings. Let’s hope it’s the same in regard to incomings.
