100% long ball accuracy, 91% pass accuracy, 2 key passes: United star runs show in impressive win for nation

Manchester United had numerous players involved in Nations League duty last night.

Rasmus Hojlund stole the show with his winning goal in Denmark’s 1-0 first leg win over Portugal but there were four other United players involved in the match.

Christian Eriksen was also on the winning side and played 86 minutes of the match.

He was well-involved, as he had a passing accuracy of 91% and had 53 touches of the ball.

Two of his passes were also deemed key ones. The 33 year old also completed all three of his long ball attempts.

Eriksen also had three shots on target, one off and three blocked as he was a constant thorn in the side of the Portuguese.

He did miss a penalty however when Diogo Costa dived to his right to parry his effort away from goal.

Bruno Fernandes played the entire match for the Portuguese side and had 84 touches, making 85% of his pass attempts.

Two out of his three crosses were successful and he made three out of his four ground duels.

He was unusually quiet in front of goal however, just having one shot off target.

Fernandes won his two ground duels and half of his aerial battles.

Diogo Dalot also started the match and played 66 minutes before being subbed off.

He had one clearance, one blocked shot and one interception in the game.

Dalot also only won one out of his four ground duels and did not compete in an aerial battle.

The fullback was more involved getting forward as he made two key passes and was accurate with 76% of his passing attempts.

Patrick Dorgu also came on for Denmark for the last few minutes of the game.

The two sides will meet again in the second leg of the quarter-final on Sunday night, with the tie on a knife-edge.

Finally, Matthijs de Ligt came on as late substitute in the Netherlands’ 2-2 draw with Spain in another Nations League quarter final. They will also play the second leg on Sunday evening.

Alex is a huge Manchester United fan, inspired by greats of his homeland such as George Best, Harry Gregg and Norman Whiteside. Proud owner of such niche shirts such as Kleberson, Eric Djemba-Djemba and Gary Neville. Grew up pretending to be Ruud van Nistelrooy and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the back garden, with little success.
