100% duels won, 1 key pass, 2 accurate crosses: This unbeatable star provided the spark out wide United have lacked this season

Manchester United clinched back-to-back home Premier League wins under Ruben Amorim for the first time, as the Red Devils clinched a famous 2-1 win against arch-rivals Chelsea on Saturday.

In previous gameweeks, Ruben Amorim has often spoke of the team doing some things right but failing to take advantage up top. Against the Blues, it was almost route one football at times which led to the win.

A long goal kick from Altay Bayindir led to Robert Sanchez’ red card, while two immaculate crosses saw the hosts get their two goals.

And both crosses came from Noussair Mazraoui, who started at right wingback again.

Immaculate crossing

Often times, there have been complaints of Benjamin Sesko or the other forwards being isolated in the box due to a lack of service. That was not the case against the Blues.

The Moroccan attempted three crosses, and twice he found his man. The first led to Bruno Fernandes diverting home, while the second was from a short corner that Casemiro headed home.

When Amad plays there, the Ivorian mostly relies on clever footwork to evade his marker before trying to get into the box.

The ex-Bayern Munich star’s crossing ability can be a huge weapon should Amorim require, not to mention his superior defensive abilities.

Defensively unbeatable

He was involved in six ground duels, and one aerial duel, and the 27-year-old won all of them. Chelsea players saw no joy down his flank.

The Morocco international also completed four tackles, completed one clearance, and made six ball recoveries. Not only that, he also won two free-kicks for the home side (all stats via sofascore).

He was substituted after 65 minutes, as he is just coming back from a injury lay-off. But it is clear how important Noussair Mazraoui is for Amorim.

Hopefully, he can carry on this form, when the Red Devils take on Brentford away from home next weekend.
