1 big chance missed, 60% passing accuracy: United Women star’s slump in form continues on international stage

Manchester United Women had two players in international action on Monday evening. The Norwegians, coming off the back of an impressive 3-1 win over Brazil, played their rivals Denmark in a friendly. Lisa Naalsund The 30 year old has been more involved this season in the United first team and she got another start for her country. The midfielder played the entire 90 minutes of her side’s 0-0 draw with the Danes. She failed to complete any key passes in the match and could also only connect with 67% of her passes on a poor evening on the ball. Naalsund had one shot on goal, but it was well blocked by the Danish defence. The midfielder had more success in a defensive capacity, winning three of her four tackle attempts. She also came out on top in four ground duels during the contest. Elisabeth Terland The striker started the season in red-hot form, scoring numerous goals in the Champions League qualifiers. This has resulted in her being involved in talks for a new deal to stay at United for the foreseeable future. Terland had three shots in the game, one of which was classified as a big chance missed. She had another effort that was on target and another that was blocked by the resolute Danish defence. The striker could not complete any dribble attempts and only completed six of her 10 pass attempts. Terland did get involved defensively, winning 100% of her tackles and making one clearance. The 24 year old also completed three ground duels and won one aerial battle in the match. Both players will next be in action for United when they face West Ham United on Saturday in the Women’s Super League.
